My name is Chris Fry. I’m a retired Engineer, married to Averil. We have 3 adult children – Martin, Sonja and Lara. Martin is a resident of Argo House, and I am on the Board of Trustees for the Argo Trust.
Martin has lived at Argo House for nearly 20 years, since he was 24. We have been involved since then, and Averil is the Board Secretary. |
We are Dennis and Suzy O'Brien, parents of Sophie who arrived at Argo in her early twenties.
Initially we were very reluctant to have her living away from home, but the amazing energy, love and kindness shown by our Argo staff has meant that her life here is worlds away from what we, as ageing parents, could ever have imagined or offered. Even with her limited abilities, Sophie lives a wonderfully full, happy and interesting life at Argo which is everything we could hope for. |
I have been involved as the Argo Treasurer for more than 10 years. As a retired person this has been a wonderful opportunity for me to keep up to date with the latest cloud technology and the new accounting methods for the auditing and presentation of annual financial statements.
I'm so proud to be associated with Argo with its reputation for quality care and with the Board in the way it manages its new governance. |
My name is Ngaire. My son Hayden came to live with the Argo whānau at age 20.
Hayden has a younger brother and sister, both of which love Argo and the quality of life Hayden has living there. The staff are amazing dedicated professionals who make Hayden's life exciting and challenging and welcome us as part of the whānau. Argo is a home away from home. |
My relationship with Argo has been one of many challenges during our search for the ideal home that would be a flatting environment for our daughter Stephanie.
My husband John and I became involved with the Trust when a group of parents got together to discuss our children's' future. Our dream was to find or build a home that would accommodate our children's needs 24/7. |
I am Claire Stewart - mother of Glenn. My background is in finance administration.
Glenn arrived at Argo in September 1995, after 20 years at Kimberley Hospital in Levin. I became involved with Argo right back at it's inception (around 1991) with three other families. Glenn has blossomed in this environment where he is able to participate in an enormous variety of activities including being a foundation customer of The Garage Project in Aro Street - a craft beer establishment. |
